Lovely surprize!!

Look at these gorgeous flowers which I recieved today from a happy client. Also a glowing testimonial on my facebook page. This is exactly why I paint animals; firstly I have what I think is a special bond with animals and secondly, because it is so nice to create something unique which makes other people happy. Here is the photo of Lily’s portrait; P1070741
And here is the lovely testimonial, which has made my day. Thank you Adele!

Today was a special day! I have never had a portrait of a much loved dog painted before.I was always concerned that the character of the much loved friend would not shine through, after all how could someone else see that true and unique personality other than the owner. My husband and I were overwhelmed with the likeness and artistic ability Lynne Hudson captured whilst painting from a photograph and meeting Lily our much loved 13 year old collie cross companion. We will treasure this painting forever. Thank you Lynne for sharing your very special talent. Regards Adele and Nick Reid.

This is a painting I did for an art-group which I host on Facebook. The group is called Animal Artists United, if anyone wants to take a look. Lots of fabulous artwork by talented animal loving artists, and a fun and chatty group. This painting was from a photo in the duo challenge. It is A4 size in acrylics. Had great fun with the cushions. I am calling this Siesta, due to the cushion colours reminding ge of a very Spanish or Mexican vibe.

Antiques and shabby chic. Old wardrobe makeover.

Just want to share a recent wardrobe makeover; this is one of 2 wardrobes which I bought for refurbishment and resale. The carcass of this late Victorian wardrobe was basically very solid and sound, but had a damaged mirror and a lot of surface fading scratches etc. This was repainted using Colourman traditional milk paint. ( I will soon be making my own milkpaint- durable, traditional, environment friendly, and very user friendly. Lightly waxed and the mirrors replaced with painted chickenwire inserts, vintage fabric curtaining, and backed with wooden panels to keep moths out.I am happy to say these 2 wardrobes were snapped up instantly!SOLD! One of my favorite words!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
